14 Ways to Make The Most of Today in 2015!

“Imagine there is a bank account that credits your account each morning with $86,400. It carries over no balance from day to day. Every evening the bank deletes whatever part of the balance you failed to use during the day. What would you do? Draw out every cent, of course. Each of us has such a bank, its name is time. Every morning, it credits you 86,400 seconds. Every night it writes off at a loss, whatever of this you failed to invest to a good purpose. It carries over no balance. It allows no over draft. Each day it opens a new account for you. Each night it burns the remains of the day. If you fail to use the day's deposits, the loss is yours. There is no drawing against "tomorrow". You must live in the present on today's deposits. Invest it so as to get from it the utmost in health, happiness, and success. The clock is running. Make the most of today.” ― Marc Levy, If Only It Were True

Happy New Year and THANKS very much for still being here (with me).

Here are 14 ways I am hoping to inspire you to make the most of today in 2015.

Health & Fitness

The Fat Funeral / her IG (instagram) page is one of my favorites. Her daily 15 second exercise videos, counting down to getting 'carnival ready' will probably bust your ass but her inspiring quotes and charm will always perk you up! She deviates from being like most IG exercise accounts in that the focus is not on her (face, tits and ass) which is so refreshing although when she recently posted a picture of herself with a 'Happy New Year' greeting, along with the quote I used above, I was awestruck!

Caro & Dalia / these 2 Carnival Goddesses arise from the twin island of Trinidad & Tobago but live in NYC. Every two weeks, Carolyn is the meal plan wizard and Dalia is in charge of the workout regimen. I mentioned them in 'My Transformation - Out of The Shadows' post last February. When I got introduced to their Facebook group in November 2013, I weighed about 140 pounds. Today, I am about 117 pounds, and I have these ladies to thank since rejoining their group in October. They expect your hard work and dedication, and results are to be seen if you follow diligently. Just ask their members.

The Betty Rocker / exactly what I need to get me jumpstarted in the New Year. Her energy is pumped. Not only do I love her frequent 30 Day Challenges but I can appreciate her current 'free 30-Day Bodyweight Challenge - Transform Your Body in Just 15 Minutes a Day - NO EQUIPMENT Required!' ... oh how this suits my exercise commitment and lifestyle. I love how she keeps me accountable via email too.

Blogilates - 30 Day Abs / I cannot say I'm a fan but I do appreciate her 30 Day Flat Abs Challenge. Who would not? Especially when Trinidad Carnival is around the corner!

(Do not miss my previous post on '12 of My Favorite Travel Blogs')

Travel Noire / “A quick glance at the Instagram feed of Travel Noire, another emerging community for unconventional travelers of color, confirms black travelers are, indeed, out here. And the reason they’re flocking to niche communities is because of “representation,” says Zim Ugochukwu, 26, the creator of Travel Noire, a digital publishing platform with over 100 contributors. “When you see somebody who looks like you doing something you never thought you could do, then that thing becomes possible.” - "We Are Out Here: Inside the New Black Travel Movement".

This picture of mine was included on the Travel Noire feed over a year ago ...

Nomadness Travel Tribe / clearly you need to know about this TRIBE because "In the wee hours of Christmas morning, a flight deal was shared in an exclusive Facebook group for urban travelers. An unbelievable fare glitch priced round trip flights on Etihad Airways from select U.S. cities to Abu Dhabi as low as $187, nonstop, taxes and fees included. Whoa. This is the kind of thing Nomadness Travel Tribe, a stealth crew of 9,000 predominately African American globetrotters, ages 25 to 40, lives for. At last count, the tight-knit travel clique has collectively visited all but a dozen countries on the map, hosting meet-ups in cities around the world, from New York to Dubai. They even have matching tattoos. And they booked hundreds of tickets within hours." - "We Are Out Here: Inside the New Black Travel Movement" ... I had a friend luck out with those Abu Dhabi airline tickets. She scored 5 tickets.

The Budgetnista / I am focused on living richer in 2015. The LIVE RICHER Challenge is a FREE, online financial challenge created to help 10,000 women achieve 7-specific financial goals in 36 days.

Art, Writing & Creativity

Joanne Sharpe Art / “Whimsical art maker” Joanne Sharpe is a colorful mixed media artist and enthusiastic teacher with a passion for art journaling, lettering, doodling and illustration. Take an online class, like her 'Artfully Inspired Life 2015.'

Alisa Burke / a freelance painter and mixed media artist who studied fine art at Portland State University. With a background in painting and printmaking, a desire to explore and push materials, Alisa is always looking for new ways to break the rules and redefine art. She draws inspiration from street art, graffiti, art history and fashion and it is not uncommon to find her digging through the trash in hopes of recycling something unique to use in her artwork. Online classes.

Beaute' J'adore / Not only did she work out throughout her entire pregnancy but you should have seen the fashion she wore, mostly sewn by her also. Recently, I discovered that she taught herself to sew as recently as in 2012. Also to my surprise, she got married on my island, Saint Lucia. Read her posts: 'Beautiful St.Lucia''Next Chapter' and 'Beauty of Soufriere'.

Craftsy / provides education and tools to add creativity to life. Pay for a class or enjoy a Free Mini-Class. I have taken many a class!

Journals / I purchased the following three on Amazon. ... And yes, I've gotten my eight year old daughter involved too.

Q&A a Day: 5 Year Journal
The Q&A a Day Journal shows you what was going through your head each day—for five years of your life.

Q&A a Day for Kids Journal: A Three Year Journal
A journal for parents and children ages roughly four to ten (although age range is flexible) to share the evolution of thoughts, feelings, and dreams over the years. Also great for kids who want to keep a time capsule of their own whimsical thoughts and serious ideas about the world.

Starting Today: A Journal of Intention and Change
Writing down daily intentions (such as "focus on the present," or "be a better listener") helps readers work toward becoming the person they want to be, one small step at a time. Filled with a year's worth of insightful prompts and uplifting quotes, this invaluable journal provides space to declare intentions, reflect on progress, and live life a little better—starting today.

Magic, Mysticism, The Stars & Planets Align!

Gala Darling / it's hard to believe but she once said her life was in turmoil, and she could not imagine what it was like to be happy until she stumbled upon radical self love. She's my little potion of whimsy. Here are her best posts of 2014, what I feel are sprinkles of magical dust.

Scorpio Mystique / if you did not know it yet, I am SCORPIO. Born, smack dead centre. Her daily Scorpio instagram posts are usually bang on target. Since 2015 is hailed to be our year fellow Scorps (pain in the ass Saturn has finally moved on from Scorpio) this is my gift to you: January Forecast for Scorpio
