Virgina Tech Shooter, Cho.

Since the Virginia Tech shootings, I've been glued to the tv. Captivated by the survivors' horrifying stories. I wondered how a young man could be so disconnected and selfish, changing the lives of so many people and their families. How could someone not respect human life?

Then I read his chilling manifesto and I am sympathetic. .... And I rethink of all the loners/weirdos I
ignored during my days in college. What could I have done to make them feel less ignored? If only we put ourselves more often into the other man's shoes.

Maybe all it would have taken was someone to look into his eyes and smile, or say hello. Maybe all it would have taken was for someone to show they cared or were interested. Maybe all it would have taken was for someone to ask his name and his story.

Now all the students are upset that he left those videotapes. Some call it cruel, diabolical and self absorbed but probably there's some truth to his last chilling words.

In the manifesto, Cho repeatedly suggests he was picked on or otherwise hurt.

"You have vandalized my heart, raped my soul and torched my conscience," he says, apparently reading from his manifesto. "You thought it was one pathetic boy's life you were extinguishing. Thanks to you, I die like Jesus Christ, to inspire generations of the weak and the defenseless people."

"Your Mercedes wasn't enough, you brats," says Cho, a South Korean immigrant whose parents work at a dry cleaners in suburban Washington. "Your golden necklaces weren't enough, you snobs. Your trust funds wasn't enough. Your vodka and cognac wasn't enough. All your debaucheries weren't enough. Those weren't enough to fulfill your hedonistic needs. You had everything."

Here is a song people heard Cho sing repeatedly:

Shine by Collective Soul

Give me a word
Give me a sign
Show me where to look
Tell what will I find ( will I find )
Lay me on the ground
Fly me in the sky
Show me where to look
Tell me what will I find ( will I find )

Oh, heaven let your light shine down (x4)

Love is in the water
Love is in the air
Show me where to go
Tell me will love be there ( love be there )
Teach me how to speak
Teach me how to share
Teach me where to go
Tell me will love be there ( love be there )

Oh, heaven let your light shine down (x4)

Im going to let it shine (x2)
Heavens little light gonna shine on me
Yea yea heavens little light gonna shine on me
Its gonna shine, shine on me
Its gonna shine, come on in shine
