Skinny Fabulous - Head Bad (On The Spot)

Head Bad (On the Spot) by Skinny Fabulous, never got my attention until I went to Caribana, the first week in August. I was so focused on sharing and also enjoying the St.Lucia Carnival 2008 soca music that I did not pay attention to much else.

Caribana is a festival of Caribbean culture and traditions held each summer in the city of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Annually Caribana draws hundreds of thousands of tourists from around the globe to Toronto's lakeshore. Caribana is a Caribbean Carnival event, that has been billed as North America's largest street festival, frequented by over 1.3 million visitors each year for the festival's final parade.

Just one month after "Head Bad (On the Spot)" earned Skinny Fabulous the 2008 St. Vincent and the Grenadines Soca Monarch crown, the uptempo soca anthem was heard throughout the Caribana season, both in fetes and on the road. Jumping on the road, I fell in love!

Soon enough, "Head Bad" was on repeat, jammin' my house and car! My daughter, Ava-Sol was even dancing and learning new words, "Head Bad!" We were like 2 mad women in the house. LOL!

Skinny's "Head Bad (On the Spot) has been remixed so many times, giving this one song an extended life. The recent remix is "On the Spot (Head Bad) - Scratch Master Refix" which is a dance version. It samples Crystal Waters' major pop–dance hit in the early '90s, "Gypsy Woman (She's Homeless)"

This christmas in St.Lucia, I met Skinny Fabulous at the end of annual Hack and Mac Boat Bash charity event, on a dock. ...And when we met my head was bad on the spot too. LOL! Skinny's girlfriend and I have the same name, hers is spelt the original way, "Ngaire" while my name "Nyree" is spelt the english way!
