St.Lucia Carnival 2008: Red International

RED INTERNATIONAL is a St.Lucian Carnival promotion company that was formed in 2005 with specific focus on carnival promotion and event planning. The Red International Team has developed over the past three years into an experienced and talented team that is continuing to innovate for the improvement of the St. Lucian Carnival, making an indelible impact on the entertainment scene in Saint Lucia with events that have become a must on most party goers’ calendars.

Red International over the past 3 years:
2005 portrayed “Hidden Treasures” with 484 revelers
2006 portrayed “What Lies Ahead…." with 682 revelers
2007 portrayed “Viva La Vegas” with 600 revelers*
*The band made the decision to keep the numbers at a manageable level.

In 2008, the band will continue to improve the carnival experience of its loyal revelers. The band is also intent on increasing the value that its partners get for their sponsorship dollars.

RED INTERNATIONAL's Carnival 2008 theme is “SIMPLY BEAUTIFUL” which is the marketing slogan for St.Lucia. Red International intends to use this simple theme as an opportunity to showcase the beauty of the island. The band is also exploring the unique concept of portraying what is ‘Simply Beautiful’ about each of its major sponsors.

RED INTERNATIONAL kicks off its St.Lucian Carnival 2008 season with the fete, RED ALERT.

Irvin Springer – Band Leader, Financial & Security Director

Irvin is the Senior Business Development Officer with the Bank of Saint Lucia Limited, Saint Lucia‘s largest and most prominent banking institution. An avid enthusiast of the soca genre, he has been a volunteer liaison officer for the Cultural Development Foundation for a number of artistes including Destra & Atlantik, Roy Cape All-stars, Onyan & the Baygon Band, Da Bhann, Claudette Peters, Mervin ”Sleepy” Edwards and Hunter. As part of the management team of the band, his responsibilities include the management of all financial and security issues.

Thaddeus Antoine – Assistant Band Leader, Legal Counsel & Road Marshal

Thaddeus is a prominent Corporate & Entertainment Lawyer and Partner in the Firm of Francis & Antoine & Bespoke Corporate & Fiduciary Services Limited. He has functioned in the entertainment industry in a number of capacities including a judge for the Calypso and Soca monarch competitions, Saint. Lucia and Antigua Carnival Queen Pageant and serves as legal counsel for a number of leading soca artistes. His responsibilities include the handling of all legal affairs, negotiations and the band’s Road Marshal.

Tamara Gibson-Marks - Artistic & Production Director

An Attorney at Law by profession and Registrar of the Saint Vincent High Court, Tamara’s love of Carnival sees her making regular trips between Saint Vincent and Saint Lucia. Tammy, as she is popularly known is the daughter of legendary Carnival Icon Antonius “Secra” Gibson and has been involved in carnival from her earlier years, working her way up to section leader in her father’s band. Her expertise in costume selection and distribution ensures that the band is always a spectacle to behold on the road. Tammy is also the band’s founder.

John Soo Chan – Events & Operations Director

John Soo Chan is employed with Renwick & Company as Key Accounts Sales Representative. Prior to Renwick & Co., he was employed with Cotton Bay Village as Bar Supervisor and before that, at Premier Wines & Spirits, where he was deeply involved in the company’s social promotions and the granting of sponsorship to organizations. His responsibilities include the management of all bar operations, logistics and the organization of the band’s events.

Natasha Lloyd – Assistant Public Relations & Communications Director

Natasha is the Project Coordinator for the World Bank HIV/AID Project being implemented in Saint. Lucia. She has been involved with the Carnival Queen Pageant as a chaperone for a number of years and also a lover of the creative arts. Natasha’s responsibilities include the management of the band’s public relations and marketing.

MacNaughton Mc.Lean – Public Relations & Marketing Director MacNaughton

Mc.Lean is a well known radio personality, having been the morning voice of Radio Caribbean International for over twenty years. While Mac’s (as he is popularly known) has moved into a management position as the Programme Director of RCI, he continues to fill the airways with his ever popular ‘Morning Rumble’ sports programme. Mac also has wide-ranging experience in the planning and staging of events including ‘Forever Gold’ and the phenomenally successful ‘RCI Piton Party in De Yard’
