Jason Wu for Target

Well, I certainly got in on the action immense success of the Missoni for Target collection. ... And I am willing to find myself at Target in my area again for any designer inspired collection. And after the commotion from the Missoni line, I know how to prepare myself.

So mark your calendars, Target has named Jason Wu as their next designer to collaborate with. His ’60s inspired collection is schedule to hit stores in February 2012, and prices will be $60 and under. The designer confirmed: “My collection for Target features clothes and accessories that are easily convertible from day to evening—sophisticated, feminine dresses, mix-and-match separates and playful accessories all with a bit of charm and dressed-up attitude.”

In late 2008, Wu was asked to design an Michelle Obama's inauguration dress, which he delivered himself to Chicago from New York. He didn't know his gown had been chosen until he saw it with the rest of us, on TV. Though it was this dress that arguably launched Wu’s career, the 29 year-old designer met Mrs. Obama for the first time when the two donated the dress to the Smithsonian Museum in 2010.
