I love cookies. I love them so much that when I was pregnant with my daughter, I wanted a cookie that had everything. Umm, more like I was feenin' for loads of sinful; milk chocolate, white chocolate, nuts, raisins, coconut, oats etc, all in one bite, a cookie. ... And lo and behold, I found a recipe, "A - Z Everything but the Kitchen Sink."
Nowadays my daughter, hints for a batch of fresh cookies, "We need flour, sugar, butter, eggs ... " The picture to the left is our last batch, sugar cookies.
So this morning when I saw this, the Cookie Bar idea, I was thinking perfect idea for a wedding, baby shower and now even a Mother's Day brunch.
Cookie Bars have been a wedding reception tradition in Pittsburgh for many, many years. I love it, love it ... seems cooler than a candy buffet. The NY Times wrote an article, "The Wedding? I’m Here for the Cookies" in December – stating that Cookie Bars became popular during the depression, when expensive, elaborate cakes were not affordable.

Display on pretty platters or in jars. Personalize with wedding monograms and initials.
I loved the idea to serve with lil' shot glasses of milk.
Better yet, accompanied with shots of a creamy liquor drink, like Nuts N Rum. YUM.
